 Jawab:

2 cos2 x - 5 cos x – 3 = 0, 0 ≤ x ≤ 2π
Misalkan cos x = p, sehingga diperoleh:

Jadi himpunan penyelesaian dari 2 cos2 x - 5 cos x – 3 = 0, 0 ≤ x ≤ 2π adalah {2/3 π, 4/3 π}.
