Diketahui fungsi g(f(x)) = x2 – 7x + 4 dan g(x) = x – 1, tentukan f(5)!

Pembahasan:

g(x) = x – 1

f(5) = …. ?

   g(f(x)) = x2 – 7x + 4

   f(x) – 1 = x2 – 7x + 4

   f(x) = x2 – 7x + 4 + 1

   f(x) = x2 – 7x + 5

Sehingga:

   f(5) = 52 – 7(5) + 5

          = 25 – 35 + 5

   f(5) = -5
