Diketahui f(x) = x2 – 3x +  4 dan g(x) = 2x + 1. Tentukan (fog)(x) dan (gof)(x)!

Pembahasan:

f(x) = x2 – 3x +  4

g(x) = 2x + 1

(fog)(x) = f(g(x))

              = f(2x + 1)

              = (2x + 1)2 – 3(2x + 1) + 4

              = 4x2 + 4x + 1 – 6x – 3 + 4

(fog)(x) = 4x2 – 2x + 2

(gof)(x) = g(f(x))

              = g(x2 – 3x +  4)

              = 2(x2 – 3x +  4) + 1

              = 2x2 – 6x + 8 + 1

(gof)(x) =2x2 – 6x + 9
